Q: What times are you available to help me?

A: We are available just about anytime, Call us to set up an appointment day, evening, or night that fits into your schedule. 24 hour emergency service is also available upon request.

Q: How soon can you come to our site

A: Generally we can be at your site within 24 hours, lots of times the same day.

Q: Do you install cable modems?

A: Yes, we install cable modems and DSL routers.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Currently we accept cash or check. Other payment options should be available soon.

Q: Can you perform routine administration and/or maintenance?

A: Yes, we can arrange to come in weekly, monthly, or at an interval that you choose to check the status of your network and/or PCs, add or remove users, check virus definitions, check backup logs, etc. Routine maintenance is highly recommended whether it is performed by us or a member of your staff.

Q: What do you do with the computers donated for charity?

A: We check them over to make sure they are functioning, don't have viruses, and remove any personal data that we find. If necessary they are reloaded and minor repairs performed. Then they are donated to charities that we have contacts with. The PCs can be donated to a charity of your choice as long as they meet the charities minimum requirements for donation.

Q: What should I do if I suspect I have a virus on my computer?

A: See our "How do I" page

Q: Should I have a firewall for my home DSL or cable connection?

A: Yes, you should. When you have an "always on" network connection, hackers and viruses have 24 hours a day to prey on you. Likely they have already probed ports on your PC even if you have a dial-up connection. Until you set up a firewall you may never know that they are trying to hack into your computer. There are a number of good firewalls on the market, so it’s best to check the ratings sites to make an informed decision that works best for your situation or give us a call to help you understand your options. There are links to recommended ratings sites on our links page.

Q: How do I tell if an e-mail is valid, contains a virus, or is a hoax?

A: See our "How do I" page

Q: What kind of rate structure do you follow?

A: We use an hourly rate structure. We will accept retainers, but feel it is a better use of your money to pay us for the actual hours of work performed.  Upon request, we will provide estimates, but given the nature of computers, and your unique environment, actual times may vary.
